What are Essential Oils?

 

When I first decided to look for alternative health solutions I decided to search in a local health food store for answers. I noticed that they sold these essential oils that I didn’t know much about, and so I went home and started researching and to my amazement, I learned some really cool stuff about them. Did you know that they are more powerful than the herb form of a plant?  Pretty awesome right? 

I have tried many different brands of essential oils but then a close friend of mine shared her knowledge with me about why doTERRA is THE BEST, so I finally decided to give them a try and to my amazement, the quality of the oils from doTERRA were far more superior than anything I had ever tried before. My family has been so very blessed and I feel it is my duty to share these oils with other people, especially moms out there looking for natural ways to improve their family’s health. I hope you open your mind and heart to trying these amazing oils because there is no need to struggle as much as I have struggled to care for my family’s health concerns in the past. 

So what are these Essential Oils that you hear of?

    Essential oils are extracts found in seeds, stems, barks, roots, flowers and other parts of plants. They give plants their smells and help protect them. Essential oils are very clean and absorb immediately into the skin. Although they are fat soluble, they have no fatty lipids or acids like vegetable or animal oils do. Essential oils are highly concentrated and when the plants are grown and distilled properly they are 50-70 times more powerful than herbs. 

    In addition to their benefits to plants and giving off a beautiful fragrance for people, essential oils have been used throughout history in many cultures for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits. In modern days, scientific studies are discovering new ways to use and apply oils for health in everyday lives. In my life, I have benefited so much by using oils and I am so grateful I have them.

  Essential Oil Safety Information you should know.
 

One of the beautiful things about essential oils is that they are safe to use and provide so many benefits when used correctly. You want to make sure that you apply them correctly to reduce skin sensitivity. Here are some general safety guidelines Essential Oils.

Dilute all essential oils when applying topically. This helps to reduce sensitivity as well as helps them absorb better and reduces the rate at which they evaporate off of the skin.

Extra dilution is necessary with hot oils such as cinnamon and oregano and also for sensitive skin (such as children and elderly).

Never put essential oils in your eyes, ears, nose, or other sensitive parts of your body.

Supervise oils around small, curious children to ensure they are being safe.
